Hey, I just wanted to share something with you thatâs been on my mind latelyâbecause I know life can feel a lot. Between work, family, health, and everything in between, weâre constantly pouring from our own cup.
Â
And thatâs exactly why I wanted to talk about mental fitnessâhow we look after our minds in the same way we try to care for our bodies, skin, or hair. Not just in crisis, but every day, in the little things.
Â
Â
Â
So⌠what is mental fitness?
Â
Itâs not about being perfect or always positive. Mental fitness is more like mental strengthâit helps you ride the waves of life, reset when youâre overwhelmed, and come back to yourself when things feel off.
Think of it like this: you wouldnât expect your body to feel good without movement, rest, or good food. Your mindâs the same. It needs habits that support you emotionally, mentally, and even physically.
Â
Â
Â
Hereâs what helps me feel mentally strong:
Â
Iâm definitely not perfect at it, but hereâs a few things I come back to when I know I need a reset:
âď¸ Walks in the fresh air â Especially if I can feel the sun on my face or hear birds. It clears the noise in my head.
â A solo coffee â Not scrolling, not chatting. Just being with my thoughts. Even 10 minutes can help me reset.
đ§đ˝ Infrared sauna sessions â This oneâs big for me. I find itâs like hitting the reset button for my body and mind. I sweat out stress, give myself time to be still, and always leave feeling clearer. (If you havenât tried the one here at the salon, I canât recommend it enough.)
đŻ Catching up with people who lift me â I love a real, honest conversation. The kind where you laugh, vent, and feel seen. We all need those.
Â
Â
Â
Q- How can you build your own mental fitness?
You donât need a whole routine or a pile of self-help books. Start with tiny habits that help you:
- Breathe deeper
- Feel more present
- Release tension
- Sleep better
- Talk kindly to yourself
Even things like brushing your hair slowly, having a warm shower without rushing, or applying your favourite hair mask can be part of this. When you treat yourself with care, your mind notices.
Â
Â
âYouâre doing better than you think.â đ¤Â
Â
And Iâm always here to remind you of that.
Hair Pinns isnât just about hairâitâs a space where I want you to feel seen, relaxed, and supported. Whether you come in for your colour, a chat, or a quiet moment in the sauna, I hope itâs always a step toward feeling more like you.
If your mindâs been feeling a little noisy lately, maybe todayâs your sign to do one small thing for yourself. You deserve it đ
