🧠 Let’s Talk Mental Fitness (Yep, It’s a Thing)

Hey, I just wanted to share something with you that’s been on my mind lately—because I know life can feel a lot. Between work, family, health, and everything in between, we’re constantly pouring from our own cup.

Ā

And that’s exactly why I wanted to talk about mental fitness—how we look after our minds in the same way we try to care for our bodies, skin, or hair. Not just in crisis, but every day, in the little things.

Ā

So… what isĀ mental fitness?

Ā

It’s not about being perfect or always positive. Mental fitness is more like mental strength—it helps you ride the waves of life, reset when you’re overwhelmed, and come back to yourself when things feel off.

Think of it like this: you wouldn’t expect your body to feel good without movement, rest, or good food. Your mind’s the same. It needs habits that support you emotionally, mentally, and even physically.

Here’s what helps me feel mentally strong:

Ā

I’m definitely not perfect at it, but here’s a few things I come back to when I know I need a reset:

ā˜€ļø Walks in the fresh air – Especially if I can feel the sun on my face or hear birds. It clears the noise in my head.

ā˜• A solo coffee – Not scrolling, not chatting. Just being with my thoughts. Even 10 minutes can help me reset.

šŸ§–šŸ½ Infrared sauna sessions – This one’s big for me. I find it’s like hitting the reset button for my body and mind. I sweat out stress, give myself time to be still, and always leave feeling clearer. (If you haven’t tried the one here at the salon, I can’t recommend it enough.)

šŸ‘Æ Catching up with people who lift me – I love a real, honest conversation. The kind where you laugh, vent, and feel seen. We all need those.

Q- How can you build your own mental fitness?

You don’t need a whole routine or a pile of self-help books. Start with tiny habits that help you:

  • Breathe deeper
  • Feel more present
  • Release tension
  • Sleep better
  • Talk kindly to yourself

Even things like brushing your hair slowly, having a warm shower without rushing, or applying your favourite hair mask can be part of this. When you treat yourself with care, your mind notices.

Ā

Ā

ā€œYou’re doing better than you think.ā€ šŸ¤”Ā

Ā

And I’m always here to remind you of that.

Hair Pinns isn’t just about hair—it’s a space where I want you to feel seen, relaxed, and supported. Whether you come in for your colour, a chat, or a quiet moment in the sauna, I hope it’s always a step toward feeling more like you.

If your mind’s been feeling a little noisy lately, maybe today’s your sign to do one small thing for yourself. You deserve it šŸ’›
